PRSS Certification

PSP/PRSS Certification Rule Approved
- The Peer Support Provider/Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification Rule has been adopted and will go into effect July 1st, 2025.
- The Certification application process through the Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) is on track to open July 1st, 2025. The site to register and apply after July 1st is: https://sos.vermont.gov/opr/online-services/.

Certified Recovery Coach (CRC) Updates
- The International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) has approved Prevention Works!VT to be Vermont’s IC&RC board for recovery. Prevention Works!VT is the state’s credentialing body for the CRC credential.
- Those interested in seeking the CRC Certification can review the credentialing process flow to understand the key steps.

RSO Certification

RSO Certification Webinar
- On May 30th, VDH hosted a webinar to share information about the upcoming RSO Certification process opening July 1st, 2025.

Key RSO Certification Resources
- Organizations interested in applying for RSO Certification should submit the Letter of Intent by June 30th, 2025, using the Letter of Intent to Apply submission tool.
- A PDF of the RSO Certification Application has been posted on the RSS Webpage to support applicants’ preparation.
- Once released on July 1st, the RSO Certification Application will be linked on VDH’s RSS Webpage, which also features key resources and materials to support applicants.

Recovery Data Platform Update

The contract for the Recovery Data Platform is close to being signed. Once the contract is fully executed, VDH will provide an official update to Recovery Centers regarding the scheduled upgrade to version 2.0. This upgrade will introduce new features and enhancements designed to improve platform functionality and support data management needs. Recovery Centers can expect further communication from VDH outlining the timeline, implementation process, and any preparatory steps required for a seamless transition to the updated version. VDH will provide training and support resources to help Recovery Centers adapt smoothly to the upgraded system.
